Beaches to Suit Any Lifestyle or Budget

If you’re looking for an easy going beach where you can enjoy the ocean, sun and sand, consider visiting Hollywood North Beach Park. It features a boardwalk that spans 2 1/2 miles, and is perfect for swimming, walking, and watching the sunrise. There are also several ice cream parlors, mom-and-pop stores, and pristine, pedestrian walkways. If you are traveling with your furry friend, you should add the Dog Beach of Hollywood to your list of sun and fun locations. It’s located between Custer and Pershing streets, and allows your canine companion to accompany you. A crushed shell jogging path, concrete bike trail and amenities such as showers and public restrooms make this a perfect hang out for virtually anyone. As of 2021, public lot parking is only three dollars an hour for weekdays and four dollars an hour on weekends.

Activities and Attractions

The ArtsPark at Young Circle is a 10-acre urban park featuring everything from regularly scheduled movie nights and jewelry workshops to a state-of-the-art amphitheater and huge public playground. If you are traveling with children, this is definitely the place to head first.

If you enjoy visiting museums when on vacation, the Art and Culture Center, located at Young Circle in the southeast corner, is renowned for presenting outstanding educational programs for adults and children, as well as contemporary art exhibitions. Always growing and changing, the museum is a must see attraction for your Hollywood sojourn.

If nature centers are your thing, rent a kayak or canoe and enjoy an excursion at the West Lake Park and Anne Kolb Nature Center. Boasting 1500 acres of nature preserve, this lakeside park, located on the intercoastal waterway, is one of the biggest urban nature facilities in Florida. It features an observation tower from which you can view the entire Park from 65 feet in the air, as well as a 3500 gallon aquarium.

Shopping and Nightlife

To satisfy your shopping itch, head to the Pembroke Gardens Family Mall, which is an outdoor extravaganza of spas, salons, restaurants, shops and stores. For mom and pop establishments to Sephora and Ann Taylor, you can find essentially any item for which you are looking at the shops at Pembroke Gardens. Enjoy dinner, cocktails and live entertainment later at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino or the Margaritaville Beach Resort.
